Scrapple Dumplings

Ingredients 

1 lb RAPA Scrapple (Hot & Spicy) or regular 

1 pack Dumpling wrappers 

1/3 cup Thinly sliced green onions 

1/4 cup Thinly sliced chives 

4 cloves Garlic, minced 

1 tbsp Fresh ginger, grated 

1 tbsp Soy sauce 

1 tsp Accent (MSG,optional) 

1 tsp Red pepper flakes, (optional) 

1 tsp Sesame oil 

1/2 tsp Freshly ground black pepper 


Dipping Sauce 

Soy Sauce: 1/4 cup for a salty, umami base 

Rice Vinegar: 1 tablespoon for tanginess 

Sesame Oil: 1 teaspoon for a nutty aroma 

Garlic: 1 teaspoon minced for depth 

Chili Oil or Flakes: optional, for heat 

Sugar: a pinch to balance acidity 

Optional Garnishes: chopped scallions, sesame seeds, or cilantro for extra flavor and texture 


Instructions 

1 Cook the scrapple Crumble in a frying pan and cook until fully browned and crisp. 


2 Make the filling combine cooked scrapple with green onions, chives, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, MSG (optional), red pepper flakes (optional), sesame oil, and black pepper. Mix gently and refrigerate until ready to use. 


3 Fill the dumplings by placing 1 tablespoon of filling in the center of each dumpling wrapper. Moisten the edges with water, fold, and seal tightly. 


4 Cook the dumplings, Steam for 8-10 minutes, or pan-fry until crisp, or boil until wrappers turn translucent.

 

5 Make the dipping sauceWhisk together 1/4 cup soy sauce, 1 tbsp rice vinegar, 1 tsp sesame oil, 1 tsp minced garlic, chili oil or flakes to taste, and a pinch of sugar. Garnish with scallions or sesame seeds if desired.
